post-1

I have finally dared to start my own blog & posted my first ever blog post. It’s so great to step into bloggers’ shoes to understand their every day struggle with WordPress & Blogging.

Well, now since I have already stepped in, I will be sharing a lot of tips related to WordPress, Blogging, Digital Marketing, Startups, Entrepreneurship etc.

Let me start with this small fix on HOW TO REDIRECT THE AUTHOR ARCHIVE LINK TO YOUR CUSTOM ‘ABOUT’ OR ‘BIO’ PAGE.

I was really annoyed when I visited my Post & clicked on the Author’s Name. I was redirected to the Author’s Archive. Now, how does that make a sense for a Personal Blog? However, it is really useful on multi-author blogs.

Here’s an easy way to fix it. Follow the below Steps :

  • Step 1: Login to your Dashboard
  • Step 2:  Go to Appearance > Editor (look up for functions.php file on the right panel & click on it)
  • Step 3: Scroll down & Copy-Paste the following Snippet at the end of the Code Editor:

add_filter( 'author_link', 'my_author_link' );

function my_author_link() {

return home_url( 'about' );

}
  • Step 4: Replace about [on Line 5] with your About Page slug. For e.g: My About page’s name is Bio & it’s slug is bio.

Enjoy!
