My 11-Year Entrepreneurial Odyssey – Love, Learning, and Global Success

Eleven years ago, life threw me a curveball.

I found myself in a challenging situation, homeless in a new city with no financial cushion to fall back on.

In this blog post, I want to share my journey—a story that began out of necessity and has taken me on an unexpected path.

It’s a tale of perseverance, love, and growth, from struggling to pay for a hostel to building successful global SaaS businesses.

Love Along the Way

With Baiko [Wife]

Amidst the trials and triumphs of my entrepreneurial journey, there was a beautiful love story unfolding. I met a remarkable girl who would later become my wife. What makes this love story special is that she never gave up on me, even when the odds were stacked against us. Despite facing her own personal challenges, she trusted and supported my journey.

Her unwavering belief in me, even during the toughest times, provided the emotional strength I needed to keep going. Her encouragement and understanding were like a beacon of light guiding me through the darkest of nights. Our love story became an integral part of my journey, a source of motivation and resilience.

The Early Days:

Back then, I was in survival mode.

My primary goal was to find a way to support my family back home, myself and cover the cost of my hostel.

With very limited resources, I decided to offer web services to local individuals and businesses who needed help with their online presence.

It was a start, just me providing one service. The days were long, and the nights even longer, but I held onto the belief that I could create a better future for myself, and she believed in me too.

Growing Step by Step

Over time, I gradually expanded my services beyond one-off tasks.

I started offering packages and solutions that could serve a broader range of clients.

It wasn’t a meteoric rise, but a slow and steady climb filled with valuable lessons and occasional setbacks. Nevertheless, progress was being made, and she was there every step of the way, offering unwavering support.

Entering the World of SaaS

At WordCamp Asia – 2023 with My Team

As my journey continued, I realized that there was an opportunity in the world of Software as a Service (SaaS).

This transition marked a significant step forward. I recognized that by creating software solutions that people could subscribe to, I could potentially reach a global audience. It was a leap of faith, and it came with its own unique set of challenges, but it was a step towards something bigger, with her by my side.

Giving Back and Learning

WordCamp Brisbane – 2019

Along the way, I had the privilege of connecting with incredible individuals in the entrepreneurial and tech communities.

I’ve been fortunate to be invited to speak at international events, where I’ve shared my experiences and learned from others.

These experiences have been humbling, and I’m grateful for the opportunities to give back and grow alongside fellow entrepreneurs. Through it all, she remained my anchor, providing the stability and love that fueled my journey.

Conclusion

As I celebrate these 11 years, I’m reminded of the power of resilience and the possibilities that can arise from adversity. From a place of struggle, I’ve come a long way, and I’m enthusiastic about the future. To anyone embarking on their own journey, I encourage you to take those first steps, no matter how small they may seem.
